My beautiful tween daughter is an absolute joy and blessing in our family. I am so grateful for the opportunity to steward her carefully trough the delicate tween years we are at the end of (she recently turned 12). Today I am sharing 10 things that my baby girl does that bless my heart — every day.

  1. When she smiles. Her smile is the essence of true beauty and it melts this momma to the core.
  2. Her laughter. It is true that laughter (a merry heart) does the heart good. And her laughter just makes me smile. There is a certain liberty about her laugh that produces freedom in all that hear it. I am blessed to hear it every single day.
  3. Loving on her siblings. Our tween is the kindest big sister anyone could wish for. She loves on her two younger brothers in ways that are so creative and genuine. It makes my heart smile to see her bless her brothers each day.
  4. Trusting me. Her trust in me gives me complete joy. I get the privilege of having this amazing young lady trust me with her life and that feels so good. Especially during a stage that many parents are losing their children’s trust — because of Christ — I am gaining her even more strongly each day.
  5. Singing to me. Our tween is a little songbird. God has placed such an anointed, beautiful song in her heart, and I get to be blessed with that sound each day. It is pure bliss!
  6. Humbling herself before the Lord. No matter how many mistakes she makes, or how hurt she may be by others, she always humbles herself before the Lord. This is the most beautiful things that a human can do — and watching her do this daily blesses my mom heart beyond measure!
  7. Her sense of humor. Even though she is only 12, my tween has one of the greatest sense of humor I have ever come into contact with. She is a brilliant, witty, yet godly and caring person — that is guaranteed to make anyone we meet laugh!
  8. Her curiosity. She has always been an extremely inquisitive and willful young lady. Because we nipped those willful tendencies in the bud — we are able to watch her willfulness be used in a productive way. This is a beautiful thing that blesses me each day.
  9. Her willingness to minister to the hearts of everyone she meets. Our daughter is an encourager. No matter how others may treat her, she is determined to encourage everyone she meets. This blesses me to the core as she is ministering the love of Christ with all she meets.
  10. Reading. Our daughter was a very early advanced reader. Watching her love for reading blesses me. It is not uncommon for her to spend a couple of extra hours each day reading to her brothers. This, blesses my heart to watch as I know she is doing a good work.
